1 - My First GH Definition

 




This was the result I got from following the video tutorials. I thought the process was really interesting, especially the bi-arc function!! I decided to experiment with that in the next part of this assignment, and I ended up starting out with something like this: 

I then used the loft command in Grasshopper, and it created some really cool effects with the gradient preview that I really loved: 





I got inspired by the idea of a jellyfish and decided to play around with flow and array, both in Grasshopper. Experimenting was pretty challenging but fun. 

 




I was excited to bake this and start experimenting with materials, but unfortunately it ended up wayyyy more complicated than my computer could handle. It was pretty bonkers. This was the only screenshot I managed to take of The Incident:

After a bit of trouble shooting (and a lot of waiting around for my computer), I decided to ditch the idea and try something else out.





I definitely strayed from the tutorials a bit, but I was still applying what I learned from those tutorials as well as some new things I learned from experimenting. I ultimately ended up with this:






And this is my favourite part--it was unintentional, but I think the twists and the reflections of the metal material I used looks really neat: 


While this wasn't my first experience with grasshopper, it was my first deeper dive into the program, and I found it very challenging but interesting. I definitely would like to figure out why my first attempt turned out the way I did!!
